Located in the most historic part of Penzance, tucked away in our own secluded palm tree & fairy light filled courtyard.
Set on two floors, each with its own atmosphere we pride ourselves in having a modern, contemporary yet warm and inviting atmosphere. We are currently showcasing local photographer Adam Gibbards work and local paintings by Günter Lischka, granddad of owner!
We took over The Bakehouse on February 14th 2017, so Valentines day, easy to remember how long we’ve been here and a bit of a hectic first shift!
The Bakehouse has been a well established restaurant in the local community for the past 13 years, and we will try our utmost to keep it that way for locals and visitors for many years to come.
We take pride in using local ingredients and produce, including Thornes fruit & veg, which is just up the road from us! Matthew Stevens fish, in Newlyn and Trevarthens Cornish butchers.
We hope you come and eat with us soon and enjoy your evening!
Thank you, Kim & Gary

Lovely welcome, friendly staff, the monkfish starter is the best I’ve ever tasted. Lovely choice of mains, my steak was cooked to perfection. For my pudding and after great deliberation I decided on the lemon tart and was not disappointed, although I did manage to try my partners chocolate nemisis and this was equally as delicious.
Never normally totally satisfied when dining out but I have to say 10/10 from the welcome to the goodbye fantastic service and wonderful food. I was part of a very large group who all of our food came as requested and with out fuss I had the monkfish starter which was superb followed by fillet steak which was stunning.
I have eaten here a few times and it never disappoints. The service is exceptional from calling to book, checking if its an occasion and then making it feel very special on arrival. The owner is always incredibly polite, subtle and goes out of her way to personalise your experience.
Best Steak Ever! Wonderful meal from start to finish. Steak was the best I’ve ever tasted! Service just right. Looking forward to our next visit.
